How to Build

Watch our video tutorial carefully first before assembling your Sweet Bear. Remember it's okay to make mistakes! Every cuddly companion will be one of a kind. Please reach out to our team at support@thesweetbear.com for any questions. Assemble with adult supervision.

Instructions

Step 1 - Stuff your Bear

Begin by taking the cotton out of the box and stuffing your bear. Put in as much cotton as you'd like. Don't forget to stuff the arms and legs. Put the fuzzy red heart and heat pack in if you have one.

Step 2 - Start to Sew

Start off by threading the needle and tying a knot at both ends. (It is easier to thread when tip of thread is wet) Begin from the bottom of the bear's back opening from one side. Puncture coming up with your needle. Pull until it stops at the knotted end.

Step 3 - Ladder Stitch

Pinch a fold 1/4 inch on the same side and put the needle through. Now lace the needle up through the opposite flap, pinch a fold again and put the needle through. Repeat these steps and you should see a “ladder stitch” forming.

Step 4 - Tighten and Inspect

Inspect to make sure that the stitches are close enough together that you do not see the cotton stuffing. Tighten the flaps together as you go by pulling the thread.

Step 5 - Tying the Knot

To tie a knot at the top, poke the needle up through the flap and then down again. Before pulling the thread tight, put the needle through the circle the thread makes.

Step 6 - Finishing Up

Pull tight and repeat and then use scissors to cut away the excess thread. Every kit comes with extra long thread just in case you make any mistakes! Enjoy your new heated and weighted friend.
